Galactic center conference@Brno, Czechia

I have attended for the first time the Galactic center conference (IAU symposium 405) held in the beautiful city, Brno, Czechia. It was probably my first time to attend a conference in a planetarium. It was a great experience. I was asked to give a talk about our XRISM observation of the supernova remnant Sgr A East, which is located in the immediate vicinity of Sgr A*. It is thus natural to expect that some imprints of Sgr A*’s past activities are written in the plasma of Sgr A East. According to our analysis, it is indeed likely that Sgr A East was actually affected by a bursting activity of Sgr A* in a few 1000 yrs ago, which can be inferred from the observed non-equilibrium ionization state. But it is still non-conclusive, and thus we definitely need more data. Galactic center involves a lot of physical and astronomical aspects including cosmic-ray acceleration, my favorite. Learning about a broad range of recent results coming out there was so much fun.
